We are extremely happy that many young people who are not agricultural majors also felt the urge to find a solution to the challenges of Hungarian agriculture with their innovative vision. The final was won by the idea of predicting bovine lameness.
The batch of applicants to the NAK TechLab University Idea Competition was exceptionally strong, allowing seven teams to take part in the finals instead of the originally planned five. The first place was awarded to the team called CowBaj. Their solution can measure the various conditions of cattle, more precisely, filter out any lameness in the animals using a digital, automated method. Their rewards are a DJI drone, participation in an international innovation festival and further professional consultations to improve their development.
A special award was given to the solution of the team Tornádo. They created an infrared camera system that can reliably and accurately show the temperature of plants even in various conditions, thus helping optimal production.
The main goal of the university idea competition was to explore untapped opportunities in agriculture, as well as to make agriculture more attractive to young people.
