Design Terminal is preparing for a special closing of its Mentoring Program. Ten weeks ago, right in the middle of the quarantine period, the innovation agency launched the spring semester of its flagship program with an unusual concept that overwrote almost every rule so far. The incubation program was moved entirely to online platforms.
It is no question that the stakes should also be raised as the program ends. Sticking to a bold move, DT was inspired by scripts of television talent shows, and on Thursday, July 16, from 7 p.m., eleven teams will introduce themselves to the general public as part of a vibrant Final Show.
Hungarian startups are joining the show from Budapest, while teams from Kenya, Chile and Egypt are checking into the excitement online. Pitches presenting the innovative solutions will be challenged by tough questions from the jury, in which we will find Dr. Dénes Kemény, the legendary captain of the Hungarian men’s water polo gold team, Gabriella Csányi, startup founder and investor, and Tamás Stukovszky, Ministerial Adviser to the Ministry of Innovation and Technology vice-president.
Alexis Latham has already hosted the closing event of a few Mentoring Program semesters, so he knows exactly how to heighten the excitement during the Final Show. The co-host will be Kiss Orsolya Kisó, with whom we will witness backstage moments, as she asks the teams and their mentors about their experiences.
Final Show also has an interactive element in store for the audience. In addition to finding out who gets the most developing team and the most inspiring mentor prize as part of the show, viewers can also send their votes to their favorite startups and win valuable prizes by voting.
