The Budapest division of the world’s largest brake system manufacturing company chose Design Terminal to support the integration process of startups.
The corporate group, which also manufactures the brake system for the high speed bullet train, Shinkansen, is also important from Hungary’s export performance point of view. Design Terminal scouted for startup businesses and trained intrapreneurs to help the management develop internal communication, streamline administrative processes of Knorr-Bremse Budapest.

Knorr-Bremse realized that it had to be prepared for the future, requiring streamlined processes, an efficient organization and the ability to work effectively with startup businesses.
As a result of our global recruitment campaign, more than eighty businesses applied from all over the world. From these, the twelve most promising teams were hosted at a three-day bootcamp event on the Budapest A38 ship, which also allowed for an unusual, flexible tendering procedure.
Knorr-Bremse took advantage of the special format and involved forty specialists from its senior staff in dialogue with fresh startups. Knorr-Bremse has launched concrete pilot projects with the teams presenting the three most useful solutions. The integration of innovative tools into the everyday operation of the client was supported by the Innovation Champion workshops.

Design Terminal recognized that implementation of innovative startup solutions can only be successful if they are supported by colleagues of Knorr-Bremse who need to be trained internal entrepreneurs, innovation champions.
During workshops and mentoring, they were trained in how to support the integration of innovative solutions from the selected startup. Internal communications, project management and agile methodology were all part of the agenda of the workshops and courses.
